Caroline Connolly - Childcare Coordinator
As the heart of our team, Caroline Connolly has worked for BCYC for the past 8 years, with a dedicated focus on childcare for the past 6 years.
Our Supportive Team:
Our team of six staff members, working in pairs, ensures personalized attention for children across three rooms. The age range spans from 4 to 11 years, accommodating diverse educational needs.
Creating Positive Environments:
At Cáirde, we aim to foster a fun and caring atmosphere where children can thrive, develop, and form lasting friendships outside of school. We understand the importance of providing a happy and positive setting, allowing parents to focus on their work with the assurance that their children are well-cared for.
Qualifications and Vetting:
All members of the Cáirde team are fully Garda vetted and possess the necessary childcare qualifications ensuring the professionalism and maintaining the high standards of our services.
Services Provided:
- Open 48 weeks a year, closed on bank holidays and between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day.
- Operating hours: 7:30 am – 6:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
The Walking School Bus
At 7:30 am, we kickstart the day with a nutritious breakfast for all children before departing on their “Walking School Bus” journey. This eco-friendly, safe, and enjoyable mode of transportation ensures that children reach and return from local schools under the supervision of our trained staff.
- Approved routes by South Dublin County Council and Rathfarnham Garda.
- Staff members wear high-visibility vests, with one leading and one at the rear.
- Children walk in pairs, holding hands, ensuring safety.
After School Service
The children are collected from their school at their regular home time and return to the Centre, wearing their high visibility vests and accompanied by trained staff.
- Children are supervised for homework.
- Provided with a healthy hot meal.
- Any dietary needs are accommodated.
School Holidays
Full-day attendance during school holidays with engaging activities.
Additional Information
Registered with Tusla and Early Childhood Ireland.
National Childcare Scheme available for all parents.
