The Butterfield Districts Residents’ Association is one of the organisations we in Ballyroan Community and Youth Centre cooperate with closely. So we are delighted they are holding their Gala Community Night in the Centre on Friday, June 8th, at 6.30 pm. We hope anyone who needs a carpark place will be able to locate one by that hour in the evening.

 

The BDRA drive to secure extra carpark spaces at Rosemount Shopping Centre is one the Centre supports to the full. We have all experienced driving to our local shops, café, church or community centre, only to find it impossible to park. Older people need to drive for shopping, especially because of the difficulty of carrying heavy loads home. People attending funerals or weddings are forced to walk a long way to the church from a distant space found on neighbouring roads. Not very welcoming, is it? Especially since we were gifted a cycle path absolutely no-one wanted, using up some of the area ideally suited to extra car spaces.

 

So when you meet our local politicians at the Gala, make sure to let them know what we need in Butterfield/Ballyroan to support our local businesses and community facilities. See you there!
